HoWs of the Rising Sun - the book of the book below!

All of us were inspired - and some of the best that came from that momentous weekend can be downloaded for free, courtesy of Mike Handley who painted the cover and put it all together and Jared Handley who finally made it real

House of Writers [Book Blurb Friday]

New Orleans, Labour weekend, Southern Decadence, Saints versus Vikings in the opening match of the season ... and the fifth anniversary of Katrina.

All this plus the first meeting of eight writers, known only to each other through their writing on a well-known social site: a journalist, a couple of teachers and a travel agent, three from the wider world of commerce and a couple of stay-at-homes. From Alabama to Texas, from Germany, Mexico and Great Britain for a long weekend, armed with pen and paper and fuelled by enthusiasm and a selection of whiskies.

THIS TRUE STORY is the never-before-told account of that momentous weekend from which none returned home unchanged. Unexpurgated account written by Someone Who Was There [120 words]

Week #12’s response to Lisa Ricard Claro’s Book Blurb Friday challenge which this week uses one of my photos, taken in New Orleans last September.

Each week Lisa posts a photograph which represents a book cover. Participants are challenged to “Write a book jacket blurb (150 words or less) so enticing that potential readers would feel compelled to buy the book” The number of ought-to-be but not-yet-written books, sadly, increases weekly.
