Muse takes over

A chapter of a novel

writes itself.

I did not know

that she would want,

again,

to sleep with him,

that she would risk

her marriage

and perhaps her life ...

But currently they

are by the bed,

and he’s undressing her.

28/03 a not so imaginary blurb

Probably fired up after submitting my entry for BBF, I played around with a blurb for what is currently 'Bridie 5' Very tongue in cheek, I put it on Six sentences, and now reproduce it here:

Five Irish brothers, four wives, ten children

Wife #1 correctly interprets the reason for her husband’s uncharacteristic seething bad temper

Wife #2 comes to the rescue when an outsider threatens the business, but inadvertently nearly ruins the marriage of wife #4

Wife #3 has three of the brothers in love with her - not always secretly - and has to fend off the revived attention of a long-ago lover.

Wife #4 struggles to overcome her loss of self-confidence, increasingly threatened as she gradually becomes aware of her cousin's effect on her husband - and her brother-in-law's effect on her.

Family relationships are inevitably complicated by being intertwined with the family business and when past relationships, good and bad, mistaken and deliberate, resurface and add further complications, the need to limit damage - and family size - becomes urgent.

20/03 travelling across the keyboard

Some Sundays the front door doesn't even get unlocked, although that wasn't the case today, as yet another friend of my husband's visits and congratulates me on my tolerance at allowing one petrol tank and one oil tank to sit on the kitchen worktop "keeping warm" - unnecessary really, they've only been there for a fortnight ...
And writing has been all I've done in the way of 'travelling' (although I did see the perigee (? can't remember the word) moon on the way back from the Chinese Take-away last night) but at least 'Bridie 5' has gone well this week - 9800 words added - and my 'Crime Scene' tale has another four episodes - now about 4000 words.   Absolutely zilch in the way of poetry though, sadly - aros was so good for that daily small kickstart to the brain.

I have begun trying to design a cover for Bridie 5 too - and need to think of a title ...

Write 1 Sub 1 - week 7 report

Subbed 6 altogether - another Hon.mention with Jo Prescott, 'Circle of Celebration (words AND pictures) to MuDJoB for April, 2 to PigeonBike for a Chapbook, one of which was rejected & the other pending, and a first for me, 'Bastard' to Lily Childs' Friday Prediction. River of Stones accepted 'My Grandmother's tablecloth' for their 'Book of Stones'. Bridie 5 had another 3500 words added and I proofed and pressed the 'publish' button on my NaNoWriMo novel so have 4 books available on Blurb, which feels very good indeed.
