Superb first novel - Nicola White's 'In the Rosary Garden'.

I've just finished reading, almost in one sitting, having only reached page forty last night, Nicola White's 'In the Rosary Garden'. and have reviewed it both on Goodreads and Amazon as follows:

Good heavens, this was wonderful! Bought because it was short-listed for the Deanston Scottish Crime Book of the Year, recommended by Declan Hughes and Denise Mina (and already the winner of the Dundee International Book Prize) this has an originality and a freshness which sets it part from usual crime novels. It is beautifully written, tightly and convincingly plotted with exceptional scene-setting and fascinating characters, especially in Ali and detective Vincent Swan, who I hope is due to appear elsewhere. And soon.
