O Momentous day

Not only am I heading for Stirling in readiness for tomorrow's  Bloody Scotland Crime Writing Masterclass, but today's the day when Scotland votes whether or not to become independent from the UK.
I sincerely hope not.

And whatever the vote, the weekend will be dominated by that as much as the writing of crime.
But will undoubtedly be a good one.

  1. How was it, being there on the big day? Did you pick up any ideas for crime stories?!

  2. Derek - surprisingly quiet - subdued and thoughtful, so no ideas as such (!) but some wonderful input from the Masterclass (thank you Liam Bell for 'Opening lines', Helen Sedgewick for synopsis advice, and a panel on publishing.
Christopher Brookmyre was superb both as a teacher (as is especially his latest Jasmins Sharp trilogy) and for a story he read out that evening - clever and hugely amusing, vividly illustrating his "Write to amuse yourself"
