Then northwards, finding out how little we knew of how small town America functioned - only one restaurant open in the centre of Jackson on a Monday night - but also saw cotton fields, cotton picking and cotton bales.
Arrived at the Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale - the highlight of the fortnight - and met with the best sort of friends from Alabama who taught and showed us so much of the area, including a memorable lunch which Mike Handley wrote about here.
Now I'm off to Cardiff ... still working on latest novel, still with two end of year deadline short stories, so I'm not participating in NaNoWriMo this year either.
