Tedious

“Let us spray” he said, which might’ve been funny had it not been for the fourteenth time.   Rick was getting fed-up with this tribute to his recently-deceased granddad.  [140 characters]

  1. Spray, play-very good Sandra!

(BTW-there is either something wrong with your link at Grandma Goulash, or Firefox is playing mean tricks on me...)

  3. Do you have someone who drives you mad with repeated puns? Because this sounds like the voice of experience.

  5. AJ - I have a husband and two sons who do so, constantly - is it a male thing?

  6. I love word play though it can be tiresome when repeated ad nauseam.

  7. I've known some people who do that...repeat something that was funny the first time, but not the 14th time...it gets old fast! Good one!

  8. Hi Sandra - yes it is. K can't help himself. You know those roadsigns that say "hidden dip"? Every time we pass one he says "cheese and chive". :)

  9. Probably one of the reasons I am impatient is that, surrounded by the quick witted I am invariably struck dumb. Thanks for your comments one and all.

  10. LOL You made me laugh. And yes, I think you're right...it's definitely a man thing. :)

  11. I guess because I'm not a man I don't get it. The comment alone, yes. How it's a tribute confuses me. As for the repetition - my dad would say "and two is eight" every time he said "shit". It was weird because he'd never done that while I was growing up. Only in his latter years.

  12. I have a brother who repeats his favorite puns ad nauseum. I have a husband who repeats his because he doesn't remember having said it before. LOL
I've never heard "let us spray" before, however. I wonder how both of them managed to miss it.
